Anyone using Dopod 818 Pro facing the same problems as I do?

1. Camera does not seem to function like a 2mp.
2. Camera night not functioning like it should. The night vision just makes no difference.
3. With a little darkness, the camera takes a very long time to focus and you are unable to take photos on moving objects without daylight or bright whitelight (blurrish)
4. Camera without a flash really sucks big time. but with Dopod 818 pro, the without flash really means no taking photo even when theres a little dark effect around.

Short and simple, DOPOD CAMERA SUCKS.

Does O2 Atom has the flash ability? or does it has this problem too? thinking of changing to O2.

You may have to play around with the camera application's settings to increase the resolution of the photo taken. Most PDAs with cameras have an option for this.

2. Camera night not functioning like it should. The night vision just makes no difference.

While I have no direct experience with the 818 Pro's camera, I would probably attribute this to the poor camera sensor and lens of most PDA cameras. In all honesty, don't expect much out of camera phones.

3. With a little darkness, the camera takes a very long time to focus and you are unable to take photos on moving objects without daylight or bright whitelight (blurrish)

As above.

4. Camera without a flash really sucks big time. but with Dopod 818 pro, the without flash really means no taking photo even when theres a little dark effect around.

Most flash lights on camera phones aren't all that bright. They're more like blinking LEDs than anything else (of course, there are exceptions). If you're in a completely dark environment, don't expect the blinking light to illuminate the room like a normal camera would.

Short and simple, DOPOD CAMERA SUCKS.

Like others. :P

If I were you, I really wouldn't bother. Even if there is an improvement, it's unlikely to be a huge step up.

Thanks for the reply Darius. Still I would like to highlight on a few pointers that prolly you would have been misled.

1. I used all the settings and tried taking a pic. (600x480,1.3,2mp) they all just couldn't compare with my ex 2mp camera phone w800i. The photo quality isn't there.

2. The focusing is slow as if you move ur camera and try to focus at one point. It will take around 5 secs for it to completely clear up and then u can start taking a photo. Abit too long eh?

3. Night function suppose to serve their purpose as a sort of infrared effect. In this case, the night function serve no purpose. Then what for they add such a function. For show?

4. The LED light on a camera phone does not help much. But in a dark environment you are still allowed to take some photos. Still dark, but clear. Tried N70 or w800i b4?

To sum up. Dopod's 2mp camera is unexpectable and is not that i am a choosy person but when u paid SGD1120+ for a PDA phone. you will expect the simplest basics to be there, in this case is the camera. Of all handphones that I have used. N70, W800i, 6280, and even 1.3mp 3230 serve their camera purpose well and currently I would say that a camera is as important as its phone. Agree?

I actually don't much care for the phone part, let alone for an onboard camera - but to each their own
