I updated the ROM on my Axim X51v on Wednesday. All my applications are working normally except Pocket TV Listings, which I use all the time. Every time I try to launch the program I get a dialog box saying "Error restarting self (1)." What in !@#$%^&*&^%$#@! does that mean?!?!?!?!

I have uninstalled the software, deleted all lingering references in the registry, and reinstalled the software, but the result is the same--no PTVL. The forums over at the developer's web site have been down for months, so I am not holding out a lot of hope that I'm ever going to get this application to work.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I'm also an X51v owner and avid PTVL user. I haven't installed the ROM update yet, but I'll give it a try and let you know my results.

I really like PTVL and have used it for years; I'd almost be willing to forego the ROM update if I knew PTVL would stop working. Unfortunately, it's a pretty old application and hasn't been revised for WM5 or VGA displays, so I wouldn't be surprised if it finally became completely incompatible with contemporary devices.

OT:

I just started using a JAMin yesterday and only have Pocket Plus installed on it thus far, but for some reason PTVL skips two of my selected channels with every download. Those channels are missing both on my iPaq 5550 and on the desktop.

...Those channels are missing both on my iPaq 5550 and on the desktop.
That makes it sound more like a problem with the download than with the ROM update. Try adding or deleting a channel and see what happens.

UPDATE: I think the problem has something to do with ActiveSync 4.2. I removed 4.2 and did a fresh install of both AS 4.2 and PTVL. The result? Better, but still not acceptable--I can now get my listings to display, but only if I do a soft reset before I open the PTVL application.
