Hey guys, I'm thinking that I might purchase the HW6515 but I have one burning question ...

Does the GPS require a GPRS signal and if so, does that mean that I will be paying boat loads of money for data transfer? Can't I just buy updated maps from TomTom or something of do I need to have GPRS? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Jayce

If all you need is a location fix, then the GPS connection will do the job.

Some applications make use of GPRS to get updated traffic data, weather data, speed camera locations, etc. If you have no use for such services, then consider it one less cost to swallow. ;)

Hi there, I use the GPS with Mapopolis and Pocket streets and it is very good. I don't even have my sim in the Ipaq, so it uses updates when you sync with your PC and the resident map program you put on. It is a very cool device.
