Less than one year later, its successor arrives to France. Qtek 9600, which will be also marketed by Orange under reference SPV M3100, takes again the elements responsible for the success of its elder: design rounded, obstruction minimum and sliding keyboard. The review is in French, however thanks to google, here is an English Translation!

The TyTN certainly looks to be an upgrade over the Wizard, but upon closer review, for some users it may be a downgrade. Lack of an audio port and MicroSD means that some of us will need to upgrade accessories if we decide to upgrade our hardware. I'd love to compare a Wizard and TyTN side-by-side benchmark wise, since processor speed seems to be the only clear benefit of an upgrade. What do you think - will you ditch your Wizard for a TyTN, or will you postpone buying a Wizard and wait for a TyTN?

Umm, I think you mean TyTn rather than TyNT?

Also I think this is suitable for people who need a 3g Winmobile phone. The O2 Xda exec/jasjar sucks.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've edited the original. Guess I wrote the post up too early in the morning!

I believe it's a testament to how silly these new HTC names are. It's easy to spot and correct typos in words like Universal, Wizard, Typhoon, etc.; undeniably, a little harder when you're dealing with 1337 speak.

Seeing as I spent $500 on my Wizard, I think I'll wait for the next iteration. A better processor and 3G aren't enough to warrant another $500. For me, at least.

Actually this review is really about a HTC Hermes, isn't it?
Like that was supposed to be sold by O2 (XDA Trion).

I say that because the two Pocket PCs are very different and HTC TyTN is not photographed (live) anywhere in that review...

It's a tempting device, but it's just not enough of an upgrade for me. I'll stay with my Wizard for now and see if something really interesting comes along, maybe a small clamshell Phone Edition...

The HTC Hermes is not the same as the HTC TyTN. The XDA Trion looks more like the Hermes but I prefer the design of the TyTN

Actually HTC had just launched it under the HTC TyTN label.

TyTN is supposed to sound like TITAN.
