I'm in the market to get a new phone and I hate having to carry my PDA with me too.

I'm wondering what the differences between these phones are and what the service is like for each carrier. The look to be really similar, but I'm wondering what ya'lls thoughts are on this subject.

They both have all the options I'm looking for, but I don't know much about the quality of the phone on either.

Thanks,
Court

Hello Court,

I've been looking at both of these devices, too. I currently have a Universal, but it's so big, and I like the size of the verizon and cingular.

I saw both of these devices at a Compusa in Pittsburg. My friend has a Verizon (aka Apache). The biggest differences between the two are 1) the antennae on the Verizon and 2) the faster processor on the Verizon. There is a website with benchmarks, and the Verizon has much better numbers than the Cingular's processor. Not much else is different except for hardkey layout, stylus location, etc. I suppose the camera is better in the Verizon as well. Oh yeah, the Apaches have a joystick instead of the keypad.

As for phone function, my friend's Verizon sounds just fine. He's not had problems with it, either.

Ebay Apaches go for about $500, and K-Jams (Cingulars) go for about $400.

Only thing holding me back from the Apache is the stinkin' antenna. I just don't like the antenna look.

Let us know what you get.
