Has anyone upgraded to WM5 on their hx4700 without using Pocket PC Techs 128MB upgrade? My iPaq died, sent to PPT....diagnosed as a system board failure...sent to HP...fixed, but I lost my 128MB chip. Deciding whether to upgrade to WM5.....

Thanks.

Rob

Why did you lose your chip?

I had a MB failure last year. Sent to PPCTechs who removed the chip and forwarded it to HP. HP fixed and was return shipped to PPCTech and chip replaced.

No cost from either

That would have been the smart thing to do, but too late. I'll receive my iPaq back from HP today.

You don't need the extra mmemory to upgrade to WM5. I'm not planning to myself. A quick search of the Net found more posts on downgrading to WM2003 (it's supplied with the upgrade) than upgrading. Read what you will into this but it doesn't work as well as WM2003, it seems.
