It requires 3MB to install and appears to work with all Pocket PC 2002, 2003, 2003SE and WM5 devices. It supports VGA screens as well.
It looks very nice. I can't get it to work however. It just hangs my device. You say it requires 3MB but the download is 346kb?
Isn't the ledger line supposed to be on the left?

Oh picky picky. :)
(Sad thing is I didn't notice until you pointed it out, but yes, the ledger line is on the wrong side, unless you're looking in a mirror or are on Bizarro world or something.)

The product seems attractive, but if the ledger line really is on the right I'd question the quality control.
I'm running 2003SE. Would the required 3MB use my RAM or could I install that to ROM? How much RAM would it take when running?

It looks like something I have been looking for but it hangs up on my i-730

Kinda cute...Works OK on my IPAQ 4700.
That right side ledger line thing is creepy. Why?
So, just like a real notepad you end up with page after page of notes that you can't do any thing with. I may be getting more utility out of my little Rhodia paper notebook.

After thinking about it for a couple more minutes...

I tried to load it on my Sprint PPC-6700 yesterday and it kept saying it could not install the cab file. I reset the device, tried a different download, etc., etc. with no luck. This morning I tried it again so I could list the error message. installed just fine. Seems to work ok, though i am not seeing the ability to save multiple files. May be I just need to read the directions (wutta concept!)...
I used to use PPCPad (got it on a PPCT special deal - Thanks Jason!) but they have not updated it for WM5 last I checked. Phatpad is nice but rather spendy, so am looking still.
FWIW!

In all fairness, if you're a guy that needs to draw a map from the office to his home that is located at the same intersection, the location of the ledger line is the least of your worries....

Works fine on my iPaq 2215. I had actually been looking for a decent scratch pad program (other than the notepad in PI) to note appointments. I really hate one aspect of appointments on my PDA...
Say I'm at the dentist, and I set the appointment for the kid's next cleaning. I want to invite my spouse to this appointment (we are all connected at home on Outlook). If I make the appointment on my PDA, when I sync my calendar at home I see the appointment on my PC. However, I cannot then invite my spouse to the appointment; I get an email error. So, in order to make an appointment that is "inviteable", I have to make a note somewhere on my PDA and then, when I get home, set the appointment on my PC and invite other members. No, I don't do email on my PDA.
So this looks like a decent program that will do what I want. Wish it were cheaper for what it is, but I do like the interface (yeah, the ledger line bugs me too but what the hey).

The 'ledger' line in the white version, is on the left, and the paper is white, (¼"..?) blue printed, (faintly) graph paper. Perfect enough for my money, already invested.

If you want one set of notes with one colour of background, and another set with another colour of background, you have to buy two different versions of this program!?! 8O I'll stick with PhatPad, thanks.

Yeah, I saw that, too, and my reaction was pretty much the same. You'd think it would almost be easier to program a choice of 5 background colors instead of making 5 separate versions. Seems pretty silly.

I have to agree. That's stupid. Changing background color and style would take nothing to program and should be included. And they need to allow the user to choose which side the ledger line is on. Apart from this, nice looking program.
I'll wait for these updates. But who knows if they actually listen to customer requests. Hopefully, they do.
The last question remains, "Does this program support landscape mode?"

Interestin interface design, but poor execution:
1. Although the product information says that this application is VGA compatible, in fact it does not use high resolution GUI. All I get on my hx4700 is double pixeling that makes the GUI elements and the written text look very ragged.
2. Every time I launch Vsnotepad I get a black linke running diagonally from the upper left corner. I have to remove it using eraser tool.
And I totally agree that making separate versions of this program, each with a different background colour is very silly, to say the least. On the other hand, I like how smooth and natural writing/drawing feels in this applet.
In summary, I will pass on this one and continue using far superior PhatPad.
Cheers,

I had tried this application recently because I was looking for a replacement for my tired version of RemindMe. I found its performance quirky and it didn't really seem to meet my needs.
Besides, I've come to rely more upon applications that use Calligrapher to convert my handwriting because few people can read my raw scratchings.
I have and use PhatPad, just wondering how it compares?
Thanks.
