In the microsoft.public.pocketpc newsgroup (http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.pocketpc/), one of my favourite Pocket PC-related place I frequently post to, we have discussed the effects of fragmentation. As a result, frequent newsgroup poster Tony A. (his homepage is here, with some interesting, other stuff) (http://tony72.googlepages.com) has run some tests and published the results. They can be found here (http://tony72.googlepages.com/ppc_frag) and well worth a read.
