Hi,
I dug out my 3670 after a couple of years with it in my desk. I put in a new battery and I wanted to know if I should just dump it in the trash.
I have the expansion sleeves for both for the CF and the PCMCIA cards. I have a 3com wireless 11a.b.g card that I use in my laptop. The question is: Can it be made to work ?
My iPaq is:
Pocket PC 3.011171
64MB RAM
ROM version 2.20.04
Can this thing be upgraded to a newer version of PPC ?
Thanks for the thoughts...James

There's always an ebay market for used PDA's if you don't want it any longer, and those expansion sleeves have retained pretty good value. RE that particular card...I'm not sure. You'd have to check to see if they offer any drivers for it. If your card is a "3ComŪ Wireless 11a/b/g PC Card with XJACKŪ Antenna (http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=prodspec&sku=3CRPAG175B&pathtype=purchase)", it looks like it's only compatible with Win 2000 & XP. Your best bet, if you want to use wireless on this PDA, might be to find a cf wifi card that works. I use the Symbol Wireless Networker with my Jornada 568. I have a Linksys card that works as well that I will be posting on ebay in a while (just don't need 2 cards). These are only 2 examples. The Pocket PC FAQ (http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/peripherals.htm) has some great info on compatible cards.
Here are the updates (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/locate/48_1303.html) for the 3670. I believe an upgrade to PPC 2002 from the included PPC 2000 was available for sale from Compaq for around $30. Just looked on ebay and it can be had (http://cgi.ebay.com/ipaq-Pocket-PC-2002-ORIGINAL-upgrade-CD-3635-3650-3670_W0QQitemZ8827994400QQcategoryZ29848QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for about $20 shipped.

I have a Linksys 811b card that is working on my IPAQ 3670. I also have the single slot extender sleeve (battery won't charge) and the double slot extender sleeve (battery won't charge) but with a/c plugged in they both work for cf memory and wireless. I just installed a new battery on the IPAQ itself and now must find batterys for the extenders. Question: Can you use the same battery on the extenders that I used on the 3670?
