I used to have a PDA and tried a lot of brands of screen protectors. Most of them either ended up reducing image quality, having bubbles under them, or both. I seemed to have a terrible time with these things, inspite of following directions. Went from cheap to expensive ones, but still nothing made my day.
Now I am ready for a PDA again after about two years without.
Currently, does anyone have a particular type of screen protector you are really happy with?? 8O

I've tried the ScreenGuardz and have mixed feelings about them. They look good on my PDA, but, there are bubbles. Even though the instructions say they will disappear after 24 hours, it's been a week :) and they are still present.
I used some Write Right protectors in the past, for me, they didnt suffer from the bubble problem, but, they did give the screen a mattae look (think thats the right term), plus they didnt fit the screen completly. At least I could order the Screen Guardz for my PDA.

I have no idea if a "bare" screen is too likely to get scratched. I don't plan on using hand writing recognition software, so I will not write in cursive on the screen, but do plan a good amount of data entry.

after putting on 3 screen protectors final got it without any bubbles/dust...so it really matters about the perfect application of the screen protector...now i have scratches on this one but am scared to change it. but you can only see the scratches with sunlight or a major reflection which even without a screen protector i would not be able to see the screen. i have only used the cheap ones...12 for $5. should last atleast couple years.
this is the place i bought mine from... low prices and shipping low also. better ro buy more than one item shipping is like 4.99 plus $1 for every other item.

I've sold and used the "WriteRight" (from Fellowes) for years. The OLD ones weren't really made for color (vga) screens. But the news ones are just fine. They are clear, shiny and IMHO very easy to use.
I've never had too much trouble putting them on -- the only downside is making sure when you cut them, they are the almost-perfect right size. It takes a little practice (I think I may have wasted two of them) but it's well worth the waste. When my 'screen' gets too scratched, I pull it off and my real screen is a clean, unmarked and brilliant as the day I bought my PDA (well over a year ago).
If you start from the top of the screen and s-l-o-w-l-y peel down EVENLY, all the while smoothing with the little card they give you over the area you just peeled, bubbles are almost nil. I've found that old axiom holds true: practice makes perfect.
Hope this helps! :D

I used to use cheap ones from O2, then in a rash moment decided to shell out for the PPCTechs versions. I wrecked the crystal clear protector through not reading the instructions properly, but I did manage to fit the Anti-Glare version, and I think I prefer the matt finish anyhow.
It has now been on for 6 months. No bubbles, no scratches, no worn patches - one happy customer.
So, I'd recommend the Pocket PC Techs stuff without hesitation, but I'd advise you to read the instructions carefully, and follow them to the letter

I hate those cheap <insert expletive here> Write Rights and others that come in packs of 12. They last about 1-2 weeks on my devices before they're scratched to heck. The more expensive ones (yes, I know they cost $12-15 each) such as the Boxwaves or Brandos, last over a year. May seem like more money upfront, but they last a _lot_ longer. Plus the cheap-o's seem to have more adhesive which makes me feel like I'm ripping my digitizer to pieces when you have to remove them (every other week).

I just read a review of the Boxwave, but was wondering if you know a good source for the Brando?
Any preference between the two?

Only place for the Brando's is the Brando Workshop (Google for it). No real preference for either. Using Boxwave on my T|X and one from PPCTechs on my Axim. All pretty similar in my opinion (and so much better than el cheapo's) .
