I thought Japan played well - the 3-1 scoreline didn't do them justice. OTOH, what a comeback by Australia! Goes to show, if you never give up, there's always hope.

I was severely disappointed with the US team - now that scoreline was thoroughly deserved. They came out nervous and never got into the game. The team's got talent, but I have to wonder about the coaching - ball control was poor, they lost shape easily and the marking was bad. If they come out like this against Italy, their goose is cooked.

The streets were rowdy, the pubs were wild, and my neighbour's miniature fire horn was tooting in the background everytime an Australian goal was scored. :lol:
