ActiveSync Synchronized File Folder

Has anyone found a registry hack that will prevent ActiveSync from creating the Synchronized File Folder as a subdirectory of My Documents? I have seen tweaks that allow moving My Documents to the SD card. What I would like to do is be able to synchronize with any folder I choose, specifically one located on a USB thumb drive attached to my desktop PC. I read horror stories about Mighty Sync so I don't want to go that route. Any help would be appreciated.

By default its not supported. You might try searching for third party synchronizing softwares.

IIRC it is a relatively simple reg hack on the PC to select another folder to sync with. I wouldn't recommend that be a removable drive though. The AS system was never designed to support the possibility of either the PC or PPC designated location possibly being missing.
