Damned MiniSD cards!
I wish I still had my iPaq with its regular-sized SD card slot... :?

How reliable are these cards? $9/GB…either a great deal or just too good to be true. Would hate to loose 1 GB worth of data.

I have too many 1GB cards as it is. I'm waiting for 2GB/4GB cards to come down in price.

On the surface the $9.00 1 GB SD card looks good. However, consider they have your $39.00 for ~2 months before you get the $30 rebate. And there is always the chance you NEVER get the rebate (that happens alot).
Another issue is the shipping cost. This item is about the size of a postage stamp and weighs slightly more. How can they charge $8.50 for standard snail mail shipping. This alone brings the cost up to $17.50.
NOT SUCH A GOOD DEAL.

We never get these deals in the UK :(
Best offer is usually off eBay, where someone in Taiwan charges 20 quid extra to ship something the size and weight of a postage stamp (and you even get to see how very few stamps it took them to mail it).

Would hate to loose 1 GB worth of data.recently i learned that even a simple sudoku game (from mastersoft) can and, more important, WILL delete ALL files on a storage card (and ALL files in the flash memory) so since yesterday i also backup my storage and storage card.
unbelievable that even on reliable secure digital memory all important data can get lost.

My 512MB is not even filled up yet, so I think I will wait. Never heard of this company before and I don't trust "mail-in rebates" since I have been burned so many times.

Speaking of large cards, I just purchased a 4 GB SD 150x card from Transcend...already have 2 GB worth of it used up (lots of e-books, 2 movies @ 500 MB each, and a whole host of other assorted files). :D
joker I share your pain. I have had that happen to me before and lost a lot of valuable data. I just recently copied over the data from my SD card to the desktop for backup purposes. Good thing is that I own a Loox 720 w/ CF and SD slots. Therefore, I sometimes will back up critical data on the SD to a 1 GB CF as I only use the SD slot. Wish SPB Backup could backup to the desktop like Sprite Software's backup program.

I just received today...
Moved everything from my old 32x 512 Lexar...
The "Ultra" 1 GB worked well with my desktop...
When I put it into my PPC (iPAQ 4150) it asked if I wanted to format!?!?
I removed it and backed up everything onto my desktop again and re-incerted... It doesn't matter what I do, it will not read on the PPC...
I have tried reformating to Fat (default) Fat 32, all with no joy...
Any Idea's? Tomarrow I plan to try with a friend's Dell V50 WM 5.0 to see what it will do...

I'd try formatting it in the PPC, then copy everything to it again.
If I wanted to be doubly sure, I'd format it in the PPC, then again on the desktop and stick it in the PPC again to see if it still complains about formatting.
