I got my Windows CE device connected to my company's wi-fi network. The
strange thing is that i am able to take remote control (Terminal services)of
the servers but i am not able to access the network files through a file
management tool called resco explorer as well as total comander. I am getting
an error saying ".No network path found. No network resource found or
permission denied".I dont understand when i am able to take remote desktop
connection then why am i not able to access shared files over the
network....??? can somebody plz help me...........waiting eagerly for an
answer.

The strange thing is that i am getting a password prompt only if i am trying
to access files of another wi-fi connected laptop(it shows under computers
near me in resco explorer) and when i put in the password i am able to see
the shared folders!! but when i try to access shared folders on any cable
connected desktop pc i am getting errors like no network path found ,or u do
not have permission to access the network depending on the software i use.
And one more thing i wanted to know was how do i share files on my pocket pc
so that i can view it from other pc's. As of now i am able to ping the phone
ip and i am getting a reply...but when i try to access it by going to run and
\\ipaddress it is saying network path not found.....
I searched arround the internet for a solution and found out that there are
many people facing the same problem with their pocket pc and sometimes even
with their desktops...and nobody has the solution for it...some solutions
which i came across was to modify the dhcpnodetype in the registry, diabling
smb in the pc, enabling port 445 and so on but none of them actually worked
for me...

FYI....The wifi connected machines IP address always starts with 9.124.26.x
and and cable connected machines IP address starts with 9.184.x.x

Can somebody please help me out....

Is your network on a domain? I get that problem from both laptops and PDAs. And no, I haven't figured out a way to overcome it.

Which seems to confirm my suspicion.

Sorry - no way around it, but you can't.

The program I would recommend is VM Net Browser. Its works great on my LAN at home.

I think that your work place would most likely (if its a windows shop) have implemented Active Directory or be using Domains in which case that layer of security would keep you out at this point, unless you set up an Work connection on your PPC that logs into a domain.

The other reeason you cannot see your network file shares is that they might be on Samba servers (Unix) and that needs a slightly different way of accessing from PPC. VM Net Browser will get you there and gives you a bunch of other really useful network tools too.
