I finally got my T-Mobile MDA Pro unlocked on May 24, thanks to the fine people at XDA-Developers. I soon discovered that Internet Explorer Mobile is worthless, so I downloaded the Opera for Mobile beta. This works much better. However, when I go to www.aol.com to sign in and get my email, I get the message "Sorry, you must have Javascript and cookies enabled to use your Screen Name at this site." But I DO have Javascript and cookies enabled in Opera. So, what gives? Or do you guys know of a better browser for Windows Mobile 5? I've also tried NetFront and Mozilla--awful, just as bad as IE. The method using classic.webmail.aol.com also doesn't work properly--it terminates the session before I can actually read my messages. Another method requires that I download the headers first, then select those messages I truly wish to read and makes me go through signing off and signing on again--which is ridiculous. The best method i(if I could get it to work) is what I described at the beginning: go to www.aol.com and sign in.

sounds weird but try www.aol.com from PIE
It should bring up their WAP based portal that works fine for non HTML mail
I think it pushes you to http://pigeonmail.aol.com
Too bad their full client doesn't work on WM5. I use it on WM03SE with no issues

PIE just forces you into classic.webmail.aol.com, which within seconds terminates the session. Ridiculous. This is extremely frustrating. I will try the other link, http://pigeonmail.aol.com. I'm hoping that the people at Opera will eventually fix this problem.
Another one: Google doesn't load from either IE or Opera. However, Yahoo search works fine. Go figure. If I can get AOL to work properly and Google, I will be very happy...but it looks like it's going to take weeks....

http://www.google.com/mobile/
for specific webpages for each answer
I use the basic www.aol.com portal as well from my MPX220 with no issues

Edgar: Would you please test on a Windows Mobile 5 device? Perhaps everything worked better on the previous OS, but that doesn't help the situation now. I'm a rookie with these things, but hope to be an expert in a couple of months, with everything working properly.

:(
sorry no WM5 device. I'm holding off on upgrading my HX4700 untill I see a bit more improvement.
I'm sure one of the others will jump on here and mention something. But I remember a thread off the front page that discussed the Google mobile webpage - I'm sure it had the info you needed - just search google mobile or some such in the articles.

I'm holding off on upgrading my HX4700 untill I see a bit more improvement.
The Compact Flash fix is ready. Hope it will be made public in 1-2 days.
With these patches, the hx4700 is pretty usable.
