I have a HP ipaq 1910 pocket pc, running windows CE 3.0. Here's my situation:

I copied an mp3 from my laptop into my pocket pc document music folder.

I opened the file in my mort player playlist, but it wouldn't play.

I noticed that the file size was smaller then the original mp3 like 3.5 on my laptop and 2.0 on the pocket pc.

I then tried to delete the mp3 file, but couldn't and received an error message "cannot delete file Ween - Stay Forever: Access is denied. Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permission to copy this file type."

- 10 of 25mb storage free and 9 of 20mb program free in memory.
- In their properties the files attributes are grey, archive is checked
- I don't know how to tell what permissions I have on my own device

When I try to syncronize I get four unresolved items each time. When I tell it to resolve the issue I get an error four times saying "Synchronization cannot be completed because a file cannot be synchronized with your mobile device. Close all programs on your mobile device and this computer, and synchronize again."

-I closed all the programs turned off the pocket pc and restarted my laptop, then tried to re-syncronize to no success

Can anyone help me. I want to either be able to play these mp3's again or just delete the problem mp3's. And I want to be able to Syncronize without issue. Any help or response will be very appreciated. Thank you.

The size difference shows two things:

- the file has been converted during transmission (unlikely, but can't be left out of attention - there're a lot of subtle probs AS conversion can cause; I've elaborated on an example of this for example here (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=269&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1))

- the file has been chopped during the transmission (pretty common with PPC2k2 and older AS versions) - unlilkely because the player would play even chopped files

- the file is still locked by ActiveSync for writing. I think this is the case. Reset your device and try again.

BTW, I recommend you get a decent card reader to avoid probs like this and greatly speed up file transfer.
