Preferred note taking software recommendation

Is there a recommendation of note taking software that I can use while on the phone with a client? Will this note associate itself to the client's contact for retrieval later?

Sometimes when I am on the phone with a client I need to take notes or if I am retrieving a voice mail I need to jot down a phone number being given to me. Better yet, is there a way to program the number in the phone so that when I hang up it dials the number? Less hassle.

Bar none, for me at least, the best software out there for linking notes to contacts/meetings/tasks is PocketInformant.

It comes with Phatware's Phatnotes Lite - upgradeable to full phatnotes. You can then link the note to a contact, a meeting, a task or the Journal.
