HP Ipaq 69XX

8O We are waiting now for month to get the Ipaq 6915 (6940). The latest we learned is that HP will deliver in Europe on June 2, 2006. The price range will be Euro 570.00 or $ 650.00. Some of the European distributors do not deliver to the US. We need a total of seven, but have no luck until now to get a committment for delivery. If someone knows a reliable source just let us know.

The hw6965 has been released here in Australia. I'm not sure what the difference is between the hw 69xx (65, 40, 15, 10). I've had my 6965 for about 2 weeks. Apart from the lack of information on them in the general 'web and from HP, I'm very happy with the device.

I know that the European version comes with a trial from Tom Tom, but the GPS trial that comes with 6965 is not very good and expensive (WhereIs).

I would like to use Tom Tom or Navmann but can't get confirmation from either company if their software can be used for Australian 6900.

If you are interested in the 6965, a good place to go is Organiser World (www.ow.com.au), however, I am unsure if they deliver to the US.

The australian number 6965 should be identical with the European version I have 6915 or the later US Vesrion6945. When your unit came with TomTom claim your one free map (try first Australia or when that does not work ome city you would need) TomTom and other GPS work from the same GPS chips, so there is no reason why it should not work in Australia. I have done some research for maps and prefer maps which I can also use and plan with on the PC. There are several available with lower cost as TomTom eg. teletype or even free like Google maps and Mapqyest. Do make further decissions first define your needs.

I had a "chat" with an HP sales rep today and he told me that it would be released within 2 weeks (end of August) and would cost more than $500. He was not able to commit to any specific day or dollar.
