- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your device
- Launch File Explorer
- Tap and hold on the file you want to send and select "Beam File ..."
- Wait for the device you're sending to to show up in the beam dialog (the device also needs Bluetooth on and needs to be discoverable)
- Tap on the name of the device to send the file

On my iPaq 1940, the "Beam" command only does infrared - in fact, you need additional software to send via Bluetooth. Are there other models where this is not the case?

The iPaq 1940 is a Windows Mobile 2003 device. The instructions I gave are for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices only where the Bluetooth send functionality is combined with the IR beaming functionality and they both use the same UI.
