View Full Version : While trying out the new TextMaker beta

I opened a couple of my TM2002 documents to see how fast they'd open, and typed a few things, then deleted them. Maybe I also edited something. I soon found TextMaker Beta was too slow for me, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled the old one.

Now I can't re-open my old TM documents because an error appears stating they were made (saved, I suppose) using a newer version.

Word and Pocket Word won't open them, even on the laptop. When Word tries, my 250k document is reduced to two letters, "MV."

How can I turn these docs back into 2002 Textmaker? Do I have to reinstall the new Beta, then save them as Word, then reinstall the old TextMaker, then open them as TM?

As if I didn't have anything better to do.

Hello caubeck,

You can install TM beta while preserving TM2002...

Or you could visit the support forum at http://www.softmaker.net/forum/index.php to see if they find anything special in your files that prevent backwords compatability.
