This e-wallet application now includes support for professional printing, improved data synchronisation, card formatting enhancements, expanded language support, improved navigation and performance, and portability of the Desktop Edition. Here is a brief overview of the pricing model:

• Mobile Edition: $29.95 (or $14.95 for the upgrade)
• Desktop Edition (supports synchronisation with the Mobile Edition): $29.95 (or $14.95 for the upgrade)
• Mobile and Desktop Edition Bundle Pack: $44.90 (or $29.90 for the upgrade)

Definitely not the cheapest e-wallet solution available, so you may want to weigh up the other offerings (e.g. FlexWallet and eWallet) to see if CodeWallet Pro's features warrant the higher price tag.

Sheesh,

I just paid the hefty upgrade price for the 2005 version (v5.31).
It would have to something pretty good to make me pay again.

This is one of those situations that make me re-evaluation the TCO of this piece of software.

I guess of other vendors like WebIS, SBSH, Lakeridge and even SPB have spoiled me.

I am a happy user of the CodeWallet 2005 versions for both my Loox 720 and as well my two laptops (even though it is called the desktop version  ). The combination of the two versions is really great for my usage and taste. I ended up choosing CodeWallet after having read lots of reviews, tests, and comparisons as well as also having installed and tried out both eWallet and FlexWallet.

My only problem is the pricing policy! Developer One (cleverly?) market the two interfaces (PPC and Desktop) as two separate pieces of software - maybe they should try and look at why eWallet is so succesful...?!? :?

I am definitely NOT going to pay for this upgrade. The minor improvement in features is a very long way from justifying the 30 US$ upgrade - for this price I could buy the latest version of eWallet Pro (that includes both the PPC and Desktop versions!). Or for just 15 US$ I could get both versions of FlexWallet (as a 'competitor upgrade'). So, having to pay 30 US$ for just going from 2005 to 2006 for both my versions of CodeWallet is simply out of the question.

The marketing and sales department at Developer One are really squeezing it this time! This is IMHO bordering making a joke out of their loyal customers. Of course the continued development of software cost money - but how many would pay 50% of a full WinXP license to get a service pack that addresses a few bugs and add a couple of new (but not groundbreaking) features?!?

I, for one, am a happy user of the 2005 versions - and Developer One has in a way hereby made sure that it stays like this: No upgrade for me!

I think the guys at D1 need to get a lesson in basic economics. They seem to think that the PPC software market is totally inelastic to price. I've said it before and I'll say it again they are alienating their customer base in order to make a quick buck.

I was an eWallet 4 user prior to switching to CW Pro.
Here is why I like CW better:
- Card lelvel synchronization with multiple PCs. With eW card level sync works with a single PC only.
- Full control over card templates. You can create your own templates and easily modify the layout of any existing card. With eW you are limited to the predefined templates.
- Very well implemented search.
- There is also a support forum that allows you to learn/share info with other users and D1 staff.
