Hello all,

I am getting my first ppc phone this week and am looking at bluetooth headset choices. Based on my research this phone doesn't support the a2dp profile used by the motorola HT820 which is the headset I want.

My question is: are the bluetooth profiles a software upgradeable feature, or are they hardwired in. or to rephrase is there any chance this phone will ever support this headset.

Thank you
Chuque

Hi,

I have the Telus (Canada) version of the PPC6700, which also lacks the bluetooth upgrade. From my experience with PPC Phones, you are at the mercy of the carrier as to whether or not an upgrade will be provided. Although HTC manufactures the device, and Microsoft created the operating system, the software is customized to some extent by your carrier.

Perhaps I am a pessimist, but I usually assume that the carrier will NOT provide the upgrade, and select my phone based on its current specs.
