why can't i update data off the internet via activsync 4.1 on '8125'?

i've just bought this unit recently and started to 'load' some programs. so far no problems with activsync 4.1, but when i tried to update currency data in 'converterce pro' got nothing; download failed. same goes for updates in 'fiz traveller'. obviously i can't access the net via activsync.
what am i going wrong? what should be checked or unchecked? please be so kind and advise.

unit: cingular's 8125 running WM5.

I have a 8125 and I can access the Internet via AS. Take a look at File|Connection Setting and see what you have for "This computer is connected to." Mine is automatic.

it was already on 'automatic'. perhaps it has to do with 'zone alarm pro' i'm running? i did allow 'zap' to access the net though...

Have you checked the option for "allow uncommon protocols at high security" in ZoneAlarm? You'll find it under Firewall|Main|Advanced.

yes, this option was checked and still no connection.

You could try disabling ZoneAlarm and then at least know whether it is part of the issue.

My setting is NOT--Automatic--but my computer is connected to INTERNET.

I also don't use proxy settings on my 8125.

it's not ZAP problem. i've just tried to connect at work, where i don't
ZAP and it didn't connect either.
