This Linux- or Windows CE-based computer includes GPS, an SD slot, a 65K-colour TFT-LCD, a direct-access keypad, USB 1.1 (host/slave), Bluetooth, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, IrDA, a headphone socket, speakers, a tilt and dead reckoning system, and more than 8 hours of battery life. We're a little disappointed that it can't shoot high-intensity laser beams for the purposes of complete oppressive social control, but you can't get the best of both worlds, right?

Looks like another invention that William Shatner can take credit for! ;-)

You'd have a better, more usable, less bulky machine if you took a standard PocketPC and strapped it to your arm with duct tape.

2050? By then we'll have hidden eye-driven PCs. I could see something like this in 3-5 years used by vertical market industries.

Only a silver person would use that.

Oh, wait. Apparently that's who they're marketing it to.

I think these would be better marketed towards women with purple hair and one eye.

Why... do you know any? ;)

Apparently everyone's still planning on pressing buttons in the future. Voice reco, anyone?

Well, my ideal would be something that is attached to my retnal cortex that I can "see" whatever whenever and that it would be thought activated, powered by my body's electrical current and able to access via satelite or whatever mesh network that might be available at the time, all and any information that the world has.

How far into the future can you think....

How's this:

Powered by the heat from my body (it'll always work while I'm alive), a processor that never leaves my pocket, a few terabytes of data storage (hey, my needs are simple), voice interaction, and with an interface that uses focused picowave signals beamed directly at specific neurons in my brain's visual and auditory centers, so interaction all goes on in my mind.

Oh, yeah, it also beams interactive porn directly into my mind (that's the "killer app").

OMG all I have to say is you guys are giving me Johnny Menumonic-ish visuals! Stop the insanity! :)
