Removing that annoying click every time a sound is played

I want to use my ppc to run sound for a live show using pocketplayer but every time I play a file, there is a click just before the file plays. Then I discovered that this happens before every sound a pocket pc plays, even when opening a menu of on screen taps. This is unacceptable for a live performance. Is there some tweak that keeps the pocket pcs sound system up all the time or anything else that will solve my problem?

IIRC, in the sounds and notifications applet in the settings screen, you can disable sounds made with on screen taps.
