I just traded my XV 6700 for the 8125 because Verizon's signal strength in my home office was nonexistent most of the time. I am surprised how much better I like the 8125. But I was also somewhat dismayed that the device came without a docking cradle. Does anyone know whether or not HTC is planning on selling one?

Try searching for a docking cradle compatable with HTC Wizard models ther are other models out there and I think I saw at least one that were compatable.

I think I have determined that no current commercial cradle exists for the 8125. Boxwave has told me that they do not have one but suggested that I submit a product request form. For all of you other 8125 owners, I would request your help by submitting this product request form which would at least give BoxWave some incentive to consider this request.

That doesnt make alot of sense unless the reciever end of their current Kjam product is too rounded to let the 8125 seat properly but from what I can see... everything below the slider breakline is exactly the same on the 8125, and there is a ridge forward of the connection points where the unit would actually rest. mmmmmm

I hope you are right, however, here is the message I received from Boxwave.

Dear Bill,

Thank you for your email!

I am glad to see you are interested in a BoxWave Docking Cradle for your device.

Unfortunately we do not currently offer a cradle compatible with your Cingular 8125. However we are always looking to provide our products for new devices.

I would recommend for you to place a product request on our BoxWave website if you have not done so already.

Once a product request has been created, we will have your request on file, and will email you once the product does become available.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

Best Regards,

Wow.....it does seem to be exactly what we're looking for. One small problem is the link for the picture of the cradle is currently broken on that web page......it would be great to see it before I purchased it. Very promissing indeed though.......Thanks!

Of course you realize that if you didn't really have an interest in it, you would have absolutely no problem getting 20 pictures of it.

Stupid Murphy and his laws...

Thanks for providing this. I have taken the plunge and have ordered one (even without being able to view the picture).

I received the docking cradle mentioned in this post and it works great - fits the 8125 no problem. It is a unique design in that it sits on your desk 'laying down' - meaning that the 8125 sits in the 'landscape' position so you can slide out the keyboard (actually the keyboard is stationary so you are sliding the screen up to expose the keyboard).

Edited to remove mention that the keyboard did not work while it docks - it does (don't know why it didn't last nite).

One recommendation I would make to the mfgr is to design a larger angle so the screen sits at a better viewing angle.

And this is the very reason I keep track of sites I've come across.

Glad it kinda works for ya :-)

bmac....any chance of a picture? That IS bizzare the keyboard doesn't work when docked....I would of never thought of that.

So, when you dock it, you actually insert it sideways into the dock? (mini-usb is on the bottom of the PDA, which is on the PDA's right side when docked, correct?).

I do not have a way to post images - no free server, etc. I can send them to you and if you can post that will be fine.

Re the use of the keyboard while it is docked ... now it works so I am confused as to why it didn't last nite. So all is well on that front and the docking cradle is very useful.

I too find it annoying that the image is broken. However, they also have a cradle for the iMate Kjam. Since this is nearly identical to the 8125, I suspect that the 8125 cradle looks very similar to this. Here's the link:

Can anyone confirm that the 8125 cradle is similar to this? If it is I'll order two.

The K-Jam cradle is of the same design, but when you order, pick the one for the 8125 so to make sure it fits the phone. That's what I ordered and it fits perfectly. I do not know about eh K-Jam cradle.

Right, obviously I'd get the 8125 version since that's what I have. I just wanted to confirm that the Kjam cradle is similar to the 8125 cradle so I'd have some idea of what I was buying.
