Odyssey is a wifi client - that is, it's used to help you connect via wifi, but it doesn't handle the network connection itself. I'm sorry to say that Windows Mobile doesn't have a network browser built-in but you can manually connect without one.
The short solution is to buy a network browser like PocketLAN (not sure if this is WM5 compatible) or Resco Explorer, which is a File Explorer replacement with a network browser built in (and it is WM5 compatible). You can also try connecting through File Explorer by manually inputing the network path (\\"host name"\"share name\"), though to have it visible all the time requires a registry hack.

Doesn't Total Commander have a network browser? I seem to remember that it does. In any case, it won't display anything unless you explicitly set up the Network folder - I think. It's been a long while since I've used it.
As for WM5, I'm not at all sure if MS has done any changes to it. In WM2003SE, there is an "Open" button in the file Explorer menubar - all you have to do is click on it and input the \\"computername"\"sharename" in the popup box. Alternatively, if you know the IP address, that can be used as well.
Edit: Is Total Commander compatible with WM5? I just visited the website, and it doesn't appear to be.

total commander works fine with wm5 but there is no network config area. wm5 has something called newpath where you can put a url add but when i do i am still unable to connect to the other computers on the network. i will try resco file explorer soon and let you know the findings. thanks again for your help.

Example:
Computer name:mypc
Drive:d
Path=\\mypc\d\
A nice little utility to go with it is...
Bizz Dev Netuse. This does the regedit? (not sure) that places a "Network" folder in root in the root of the device. :cool:
