Hello, folks!
I'm kind of new to Windows Mobile. I use an O2 XDA IIi (PPC-PE, Win Mob 2003 SE). I already have Battery Pack Pro (v 2.1) in my PPC. I like their Battery and Memory indicator bar more than SPB Pocket Plus's. But I like the Pocket Plus's Tab facility to put the Program and other shortcuts in the Today screen better than Battery Pack Pro's "Program Bar".
Now my question is, will I be able to install Pocket Plus also, in addition to Battery Pack Pro? That is, will I be able to have them both running at the same time without conflicts, and without slowing down the PPC? Would their task switcher and closer modules (one click on 'x' to close programs etc.) conflict with each and screw up the PPC? Has anyone tried this before?
I'd be grafteful for any help and advice.
Thanks.

Welcome to PocketpcTHOUGHTS.COM
If you disable pocket plus's close button, may be then, you will be able to use the battery pack's task switcher.
I dont have battery pack pro, but, I've pocket plus though.
O2i is a powerful ppc and IMO it should handle the operations nicely and swiftly.
off-topic:You bought the pocket plus just for the today screen plug-in ?? just curious 8)

Thanks for the reply. I haven't bought SPP yet. Just mulling over it. Y'know with the 25% discount in february an all. I have Battery Pack Pro running on my PPC. I'd bought it a week before the February 25% promotion :-[
Actually there were 4 things that i found attractive in SPP. The today plugin, the PIE plugin, the 'up' button in file explorer, and the file encryption feature.
I bought NetFront 2 days back, so I'm not particular about the PIE plugin anymore. I can very well do without the 'up' button. But the rest is what's keeping me on the fence.
I don't think I will buy SPP anyway. Guess I'll use the money for Opera when they have a [more-or-less] bug-free version for win 2003 se.

If you don't need much of the functionality of Spb Pocket Plus, why don't you go for a TOday launcher alternative instead? For example, the new iLauncher - or, for that matter, the free cLaunch - consumes way less memory.

the 'up' button in file explorer, and the file encryption feature.
If you are really serious about file management, then, give resco file explorer a try

Thanks for the tip, Menneissys. I looked at iLauncher and really liked it. Coming down to what I really wanted [a tabbed today launcher plugin] it really fits the bill. Reasonably priced too. I liked the interface better than cLaunch too. Guess I'll buy it next month [when my card bills are paid and my credit gets free :-]. Even $10 on gadget-spend is a stretch this month :-[
And Sunny, Resco is the best too. I've actually been waiting for some kind of offer on it. Because I use my ppc for browsing, email and multimedia mostly I havent' really felt the need for a real powerful file explorer yet. I'm too chicken to edit the ppc registry, so the really great feature on Resco FE [the registry editor] is wasted on me.
BTW, will I be able to use RescoFE to upload and download files to/from a remote webserver over ftp on gprs? [Like for updating files hosted on a webserver?]. Now THAT would a feature worth its price for me.
Thanks again, folks!

The question is - why would you want to.
Did you know on SPB PocketPlus 3.0 that if you do a quick down-ward stroke movement on the X button - it minimises rather than closes. And if you hold your style down for a second on the X button (close/ok button) - it brings up a task switcher menu?
I really wouldn't pay for both OmegaOne BatteryPack Pro and SPB PocketPlus. Mind you I have ... at some point in my PPC career and have gone SPB.

Yes, those are set by-default in Pocket Plus and can be customised as-per-user-needs
