I know all you experts are probably sick to death of us newbies asking for advice, but I'm asking anyway. I am looking for a device with the following in order of importance to me:
1.) most user friendly, easiest to learn and use
2.) best sound from the mp3 player and ease of music program
3.) largest display screen
4.) Game playing ability
5.) usual contact, list maker, and notes program - not much business use
6.) Do not need camera or video, or phone
7.) Would like BT and WiFi to use with my BT phone
8.) Price range around $300 USD
I was thinking maybe an older iPAQ or even the dreaded Palm since they are cheaper and with more software. Any advice gratefully appreciated. :?

Take a look at Dell Axim X51V. Though the official price is $400, but, you may find it at $350 online. It has got great VGA display and has both WI-FI and BT too

Thanks for the reply, but I just sold my Axim X50v because I seem to be too stupid to learn to use it. Also I prefer not to ever have to deal with Dell support ever again! Appreciate your response :D

I'm still loyal to my HP2755. It doesn't have a VGA display, but it's been a lot more dependable than some of the newer models I've tried.

Thanks Brad. How is the color on the display screen and do you use the mp3 function often? If so, how is the sound?

I bought a used iPAQ H3870 on eBay a few weeks ago for about $100. It is in great condition and works great. This model has built-in Bluetooth but not Wi-Fi, though a Wi-Fi card was included in my purchase.

The sound for MP3s is great! I'ved used a number of different PDAs and have noticed that the music volume is not loud enough on most. On the 3870, and an iPAQ H3850 I also have, the volume is quite loud.

The 3870 uses PPC 2002 for its OS, but it can be upgraded to PPC 2003. I've noticed that the Windows Media Player (MP3 player) for PPC 2002 and PPC 2003 are much easier to use than the included player for Windows Mobile 5.0 (I haven't figured-out how to make a playlist yet in 5.0). So, an older unit may actually be better for playing MP3s.

Note that all Pocket PCs (obviously) use the same OS (though different versions) so the ease, or difficulty, of use will be about the same among brands and models. Good luck.
