Hi people,

This place is huge! I hope I'm in the right division/section/area/topic/thread, etc.

I'm new here, and just got a new HP iPAQ 4705. Hopefully someone can help me out with a problem I'm having.

My PDA - OS: Windows Mobile 2003, Second Edition
OS version: Windows CE 4.21
XIP kernel version: 4.21.15045.0
Build: 15045.2.6.0
Processor: Intel PXA270
Processor revision: C5
System ROM size: 128 MB (flash chip type 28F128)
Flash Block size: 128 kB
ROM date: 04/13/05
ROM revision: 1.10.08 ENG
System RAM size 64 MB
Bootloader version: 1.01
PSM version: 3.7
ActiveSync version: 3.8
Serial #: TWC53705** (** = omitted)

I have a 1 GB SD card by PNY installed and believe all my setting are correct.

The problem I'm having is that I wrote a Technical Nomenclature list up in MS Word (in XP Media Center Edition) that is close to 1 MB in size and 10,000 lines long (about 190 pages). When I try to port it into my PDA via ActiveSync, "file too large" pops up on my PC screen and I'm told the "file is truncated to 8186 lines". Sure enough, when I open Pocket Word to view the file it has been cut-off losing abiut 19% from the end of the file.

What's my problem? How come I can't save/load a simple 1 MB file onto a 1 GB card?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Rich

P.S.: I have another problem I could use some help with (wanting to reduce the font size to something near microscopic on my PDA), but I'll leave that until later.

This is not an SD card issue, this is a Pocket Word issue. Pocket Word 2003 has some limits on the size of files it can accept. Since presumably you're not looking to buy a new PocketPC with WM5*, you could buy TextMaker from www.softmaker.com. At $40-50, it is expensive by PDA standards, but it is worth it if you can afford it.

*Okay, actually I don't know what Word Mobile 5's limit is, or if it even has one, but Word Mobile 5 is probably better than Pocket Word 2003.
