Whhheeeeeewwwwww......I finished reading/listening to all the Harry Potter books. It took me nearly 3 weeks, but I read them all. I thought I might share my experience with you guys.

I checked out all 6 books (82 CDs) from the library and converted them all to mp3, wma or iPOD format. I listened to them and then deleted them from my devices.

I was trying to decide which of the following devices is best suited for audio books.

1. HP 4705
2. HP 2715
3. Palm T5
4. iPOD Nano
5. iPOD 5G (30 Gb)

I did not like the 4705 first of all because it has by far the worse battery life even with the screen turned off. But also because the power button is so close to the headphone jack that I was not able to turn it off quickly or easily while the headphones were connected. I keep the PDA in my shirt pocket and need to stop it quickly if someone speaks to me at work.

The 2715 is a good compromise between the 4705 and the palm T5. The battery life was better than the 4705(but not as good as the T5) and the power button is located on the side of the device instead of the top so it is easy to grasp.

Palm T5... I believe this to best suited of the bunch for audio books(and ebooks). It has better battery life than both HP devices but the power button could be better places and designed. The down side is the largest SD card the T5 can use is 2Gb, which I consider unacceptable.

Both iPODs were about the same except of course ergonomics and battery life. The Nano was my choice of all devices. The pause button is easily accessible and it is very light weight.(battery life could be better) Of course neither iPOD has proper PDA functionality.

Can't wait for book 7.
