FWIW, BlackBerry Connect doesn't come with the 700w (http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=23715). That thread suggests (without hard facts) that BB Connect is not yet available for WM5; if that's the case, I'd presume the 8125 will also ship without it.

This is consistent with what I have heard and seen. I also agree that the 8125 will likely not ship with BB Connect.

There is a court case which has just been decided against RIM regarding whether or not RIM will be allowed to use and market its Blackberry in the USA. Let us keep our fingers crossed and await the final outcome of this case.

I am a novice, but using Blackberry 7280 for over a year. Now time to upgrade and wondering if 8700 BB or 8125 CE based would be to my advantage. Using web access has been a problem in the past (SLOW) and i see that processors are getting faster.. I didn't understand the BB connect, is that for linking up with your laptop? to avoid using those edge cards? (first time on forums, so hopefully i am in the right area)

Sure, that's a legitimate question.
Blackberry Connect is the software for non-Blackberry devices to connect to (primarily) the Blackberry Exchange Server (BES). If you need that form of connectivity, you either need a Blackberry or a handheld with Blackberry Connect software. This is common in corporate environments with wide Blackberry rollouts. As of this time, the 8125 isn't slated to have that. However, the 8125 has full Exchange Server 2003 connectivity (as long as Exchange ActiveSync is enabled), as well as POP3 and IMAP4 support.

I am using my 8125 right now and no BB push mail. Cingular offers Xpress Mail which is ok I guess but Personal seems to not push to 8125. You basically schedule sync. Love the 8125 though!
