Could anyone help with my PDA?

Could anyone help me?

I purchased a HP Ipaq 2400 recently and i am very happy with it. I use it to organsie my life and book various appointments, contacts etc on it. I sync this with my outlook at home to keep everything up to date on my computer as well.

However a few weeks back i lost all the information on my PDA and i have no idea why. It was operating very well but I switched it on and i could see some appointments (not all) and when I switched from the various functions back to appointments again they had all disappeared. I sync'ed this back with my computer where I had all this copied but it doesn't do anything. Luckily my outlook still has all the info.

Could anyone help or point me in the right directioon to get my pda working again?

Also whilst on the topic - how do I open emails up as pocket word/excel - they don't open up in my pda?

Firstly open up activesync on your PC and click on the "options" tab
make sure, you've ticked "calender"
click "ok" to return


Now, connect your iPAQ to PC.
You should get your data restored

**suggestion:make backups of your important data on SD or file store

Also whilst on the topic - how do I open emails up as pocket word/excel - they don't open up in my pda?

When you get attatchment(s) in your email,you can just tap on them to open.
eg:doc file will make pocket word open

This may not happen if you make 'certain' changes in the registry

**edit:If it still not works, try reassociating them with
my extentions (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/myextensions.shtml)

Thanks for the reply. A few bits I didn't mention,

I have tried to sync the pda with my pc and I have ticked the calender box, I haven't had any problems in the past, only recently that it doesn't seem to work.

I have tried a soft reset where I press the hidden button - again doesn't seem to work.

WRT the emails and opening up pocket word and excel - I have tapped this but it still doesn't open up.

I'm a newbie to pda's and I think I'm probably haven't set the pda up properly.

Is there a HP helpline where someone could talk me thru this?
