Well, I've had a PocketPC for quite some time and done movies on it, just got a PSP recently and I seriously tried almost all the tools out there to get good quality and reasonable filesize conversions, I didn't like any of them, either the interface was bad or the quality was very poor etc...
Now the interface on DVD Catalyst (fomerly PocketDVD) isn't the best I've seen, but... the website help and support forums and the fantastic email response time from the author Mitch is superb.
What I like most about this program is not just the price compared to the other "pay for" programs but the fact it lets you convert any movie divx/xvid or a DVD to *MULTIPLE* formats, so you can output to iPod, Sony PSP, PocketPC all from the same program.
Other sites are charging a lot of money to buy their "DVD to PSP video convertor", then if you've got an iPod you have to buy their "DVD to iPoD..." etc...
The quality I'm getting using H.264 on my PocketPC or SonyPSP is superb.
The 5-day trial version is FULLY functional so you can rip as many DVDs to your devices as you want within those 5 days.
I'm not associated with the author in any way other than being a happy customer and his next version is already promising a better interface and more new features.
Just my recommendation anyway, worth a download, insert a DVD choose what device/size you want to output and click the CONVERT button! :)
