Buying accessories now.....wondering anyone's found a compatible BT headset for $80 or under they're really pleased with?

I've got the Logitech Mobile Freedom and I'm very happy with it. I don't use it with the Treo 700w, but for all my other handsets, it's bliss.

Plantronics Voyager 510. Has to be the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. Sound quality and noise cancelling excellent.

I am getting a 700w this week and I have had the motorola v710. Does any of your BT headsets allow you to voice dial using the headset? I have read mixed posts about this.

The plantronics voyager does let you do this with my phone at least. You just hold the button on the headset for a second or so and you hear a beep - then you say the name etc...

can anyone weigh in on the Palm-made bluetooth headset? I'm looking ta that only because it uses the same charger that the 700w uses - don't have to care more cables around...

No. I don't have the 700w.

If you're referring to the "Tungsten W" the plantronics site has this list of products that they claim are compatible (http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/productfinder/productlist.jhtml?_DARGS=/north_america/en_US/productfinder/productlist.jhtml)

I hope this helps.

not too much of a fan in regards to the ergonomics of the voyager. The things I am most concerned about in regards to a bluetooth headset are:

Sound Quality - I cannot sound like I'm talking in a wind tunnel or in a tin can
Sound Quality to be I need to be able to hear the other person in situations where I am in moderately noisy areas - not as noisy as bar, but standard office and driving in the car areas.
Fit - it can't look and feel like something combersome

Any recommendations? I'm really hesitant to buy anything motorola again - my expereince with their phones sucks in regards to the above mentioned sound quality issues I have had with their phones.

Plantronics and Jabra seem to be the heavyweights here, but I have also seen some less than stellar reviews on some of the latest Jabra headsets...

Confused...

I use a Motorola HS-850. I've always been satisfied with the sound quality. I've never had anyone complain about the voice quality during a call and I can hear callers just fine. Not sure if voice commands work because I haven't tried anything like that yet with my 700.

I use this headset as well. I don't care for it personally. Works fne if I am in a quiet environment, but, I need a headset that works in moderately windy or noisy conditions and this one just doesn't do it for me. Previously had the Jabra BT 250 which was worse. I think I'm going to move on to the Logitech Mobile Freedeom or the Mobile Pro.

I'm using the Palm Treo Bluetooth headset and haven't has any trouble at all, no complaints on the other end and the volume onmy end is excellent. Battery doesn't last as long as the HS850, though.

How about using the Palm with voice command - does that work well too?

I'm kinda inclinded to get the Palm one - but I wonder who made it for Palm.

I bought a motorola hs810 b/c I previously had their first digital model and loved it, just had problems with it keeping a charge after a while and with the charge port itself.. with that said, this one sucks. right out of the box it picks up interference bad! and I don't mean wireless or anything like that, I mean if I have the phone in the holster and my arm in the way, static...I put it back in the box and I'm sending it back...Dad has the palm headset and loves it...may give that one a try

Sony Ericcson HBH-610 beats all bluetooth head sets without question (Well, at least in my opinion). I have found to be better than the Logitech Mobile Freedom.

well my Jabra 310 will be here in 24 hours. I can't wait - my first blue tooth headset. It seemed to have positive reviews so we'll see...

I know you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater, but truth is, I haven't found a jabra or a plantronics BT headset I've been reasonably pleased with. The "wind tunnel" effect is just too pervasive in the BT sets I've tried.

I have tried a few and found the Plantornic Voyager 510 to be the best. It is loud and clear and no one has ever complained about the quality. Most people can't tell I am on a BT headset.

There is a Wind Silence feature on the set too which seems to work well...

Amazon has it on sale for 50% off right now...

Give it a try - Amazon has a pretty liberal return policy...

Just a heads up, I bought the JX10 (we actually bought three of them at once), and besides the awesome form factor, they aren't living up to expecations. Just an inadvance warning.

My old plantronics one broke and I got the JX10 recently. I returned it today.

It was pretty good other than it being really uncomfortable.

Howdie,

I like that signature :D. The main problem I had was static whenever the phone was >3-4 feet away. This happened with a Perl as well as a Treo.

:(.
