It helps that T-Mobile has the T-Mo hotpots. :D

Funny, I called T-Mo on 01/19 and the 2 sales people I spoke with knew less than nothing about this product or the phased-out Ipaq 6315.

I stopped into a T-Mobile store near my office (downtown Chicago) the other day saying that I was "Casually shopping for a new phone." The sales reps there immediately went into the back to get the spec sheets for the MDA & SDA. They actually seemed pretty excited about them.
Now, the date they gave me for the release was "either Feb. 19th or 20th." They were also kind enough to point out that if I was expecting to get one as an upgrade that I should wait a few weeks after the week of the 19-20th.
Do with this information what you will, but I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the release of EITHER of these units!

yeah i was told the 20th of feb when I called... I wonder though, since I won't be eligable for an upgrade since I just resigned and got a new phone 2 months ago.. How much do you think they will sell this phone for w/o contract? Think it will be as expensive as the sites that sell them unlocked? Or should I just have some patience and wait to find out

I would like the highly recommend the SDA. I have the imate SP5 (very similar to the SDA) and it is absolutely fantastic as a phone, and works great for surfing on WiFi!
The MDA is also great (I had the KJAM previous to my SP5) and the keyboard is fantastic for email and stuff like that. Again builtin WiFi rocks!

In holland these HTC wizards go for just €39 with a 150 minute flex service á €12,50 a month with a 2 year contract. (T-Mobile)
It went down since 1-1-2006. before this it was €0 with a 150 minute flex á €21,50 a month with a 2 year contract

Is t-mobile going to come up with a pseudo push e-mail system for this device? I know the latest version of exchange has push e-mail...
As of today's news story, my blackberry is a paper weight(not quite yet, but it is not looking good), I would hope that this device(MDA) would a be a decent replacement.
I also hope that t-mobile is working on a plan in case the blackberry network is shut down. Maybe some type upgrade/trade-in plan....

T-Mobile already has their "Email Triggers" application that they developed for the iPaq H6315. Many people have just taken the "Email Triggers" application that came with the iPAQ and installed it on other Windows Mobile Phone Edition devices to get that T-Mobile email push working. It works quite nicely, but uses up your SMS text message bucket. You can filter it so that only certain emails are pushed however, and that works well. So... it would only be a matter of T-Mobile USA Bundling the "Email Triggers" application with their brand of the Wizard to provide that type of push email. I doubt they'd offer Exchange based email to their customers just yet.
