View Full Version : text messaging
On the i730 there are two things I would like to do without using the stylus: 1) Send the text message w/o having to hit the send button 2) Accept the word using word completion w/o having to touch it with the stylus. Any way to do these things?

What exactly are you after? Are you looking for a solution which involves hardware buttons, or can I suggest your thumb as a suitable alternative?

After typing the text or email message, press the context button - top left of the D-Pad. Send is the first option.
When typing, if you want to select the suggested word, press the D-Pad down button to highlight the word, then the D-Pad center button to select it.
Oh yeah, thumbs work too! :)
Thanks for the answers; exactly what I was looking for! :D
Since I have mapped my context key to a program, that didn't work, but there is the same context key on the slideout keyboard.
To select the suggested word in word completion, I found you have the option to hit either the upper or lower D-pad key to highlight the word.
I can now postpone the Treo 700w purchase another week.
