I've been wanting satellite radio on my Pocket PC for some time now, and have all but decided built-in satellite radio receivers will not happen any time soon. I don't have a Pocket PC phone edition, and if I did, I'm not going to waste my web browsing $ on music. So now I'm looking for a way to get prerecorded broadcasts stored on flash cards.

I was looking at the XM2Go unit today, and was wondering... if this unit can store hours of music on an internal hard drive, what's preventing satellite radio providers from offering podcasts of their programming? Is it the idea of being able to record music that does not auto-remove itself after a fixed time period?

As far as XM Radio goes, what about the XM PCR unit? Can that be configured to record the programming into a file that can be downloaded to your Pocket PC overnight?

If there are some other ideas people can present here, maybe we can figure out a way to get it onto our devices without requiring data streaming.

Don't Panic!

In your case I'd just get a standalone receiver of my own there haven't been any decent satellite radio recorders in awhile . They're only going to get cheaper as time goes by. Plus they'll undoubtably have better speakers than our Pocket PCs have will any time soon. Hook one up to your stereo system and record that way. Once you have a recording changing it to MP3 (or whatever format) is easy once you have a recording. Me I'd rather just rip CDs for music.
