Running Activesync from a Thumbdrive?

Has anyone done this? I do not have rights to install software at work but would still like to sync.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm a Mac guy at heart, but I'm reasonably sure that this wouldn't work, since I'm still fairly knowledgeable about Windows. ActiveSync is a system add-on - I don't think it is the kind of standalone program that you can just run and then quit and remove all traces of from the computer.
