I fully undertsand that the Palm Treo 700 carries the WM 5 OS. Has anyone heard of an OS software update for the 650 to WM 5 being that it's still kind of new ?

Thanks !

No, this won't happen in a million years.

The Treo 700w is the first Palm device to run Windows Mobile. All others run Palm OS, including the Treo 650.

In this money making world  ,manf try out new tactics to obtain(or should I say snatch) money($$$$) from people.
Just think, if palm releases a windows mobile 5 upgrade for existing treo users, then, only new users will buy the treo 700w and not the 'old' 650 users

It wouldn't be possible for an upgrade for the 650, as it wouldn't have anywhere near the ROM required.

Even if it had the required ROM, Palm wouldnt have offered windows mobile 5 to existing users

Of course they wouldn't. It would likely hurt their sales.

And another reason for its imposibility is because of its 320x320 screen. WM doesn't support that reolution.
