With two 10-bit high-speed DACs, the CH7023 can drive either CVBS or S-Video analog outputs. The device incorporates Macrovision copy protection, up/down pixel-by-pixel display scaling, programmable power management and adjustable brightness, contrast, hue and saturation control. The CH7023 can accommodate most input display LCD data rates, supporting pixel clock frequencies from 2- to 64-MHz. With PDA TV-out solutions on the decline, the CH7023 has the potential to work wonders if used in upcoming mobile devices. Of course, the key word there is <i>"if"</i>. I guess we'll find out soon enough as the NTSC/PAL-compatible chip should be available to manufacturers in Q2 2006 at an oh-so-wonderful bulk buy price of $3 each.
