http://divx.ppccool.com/

After a year and a half, PocketDivXEncoder (PDE) has been updated and in it, you'll find a bucket-load of bug fixes and enhancements. The full list of changes can be found here.

And in case you're wondering what PDE is, it's a desktop application used to optimise videos for mobile devices (including Pocket PCs with TCPMP installed). If you haven't tried either of the two, now would be a good time to do so. Both are free. :)

Dang, wanted to try TCMP but I can't run the exe on my desktop as it gives me a small illegal operation error and the zip files give a warning message about not being a valid archive file.
UPDATE: Instead of using the main download site I downloaded the files from the back up server...slow but it looks like they work.

I just finished encoding Return of the King to QVGA. I used the same general settings to encode the video as I did with v0.3.5. This file was only 389MB compared to 862MB. PocketDivXEncoder used MPEG4 video codec this time with a video sample size of 12 bit, instead of 24 bit like before. It also used a video data rate of 33kbps, instead of 73kbps like before. The only noticable difference in quality was on fade-ins, where the newer video was more pixelated. During normal action video, there was virtually no difference! I'll take that for a 55% smaller file size. :D

Hmmmm... V0.3.60 doesn’t recognize any video files I load… whereas v0.3.50 has no problem recognizing them. Anyone know what the problem could be?
