Is the Blue Tooth on the x51v for data only or can you get it to direct audio over it (to a head set)?

Bluetooth can support a lot of things, but it's the stack (set of drivers) that determines what it will support and what it won't support.

At the moment, the X51v doesn't support headsets, so you'll have to wait for Dell to release a ROM update before you'll be able to use audio over Bluetooth.

No you cant get audio due to lack of A2DP profile on the MS BT stack.
It can however be used for BT AS(activesync) too.

Do note that the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) and Headset Profile (HSP) are different to the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

HFP and HSP support two-way audio over Bluetooth (e.g. using a Bluetooth headset in a voice call). A2DP supports one-way stereo over Bluetooth (e.g. using wireless headphones when listening to music). So it's worth remembering that the use of a Bluetooth headset is not necessarily A2DP-dependent.

HFP, HSP and A2DP are all present in the Microsoft stack from AKU 1.1 and beyond, though Dell simply hasn't implemented the profiles in the current ROM of the X51/X51v.

Thanks guys .... I did some poking around this weekend and I see some companies make a BT dongle that plugs into the headphone jack ... being supported directly would be much better though.
