Hi -
I have an iPaq 4150 running Windows 2003 mobile and I have set up POP mail. receiving mail works perfectly.
Sending mail, gives me the error:
'Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct'
My outgoing SMTP server requires authentication. My SMTP authentication username and password are DIFFERENT from my incoming mail username/password. Usually, when I check off smtp authentication is required, there is an option to enter a username and password.
I've done some research on the web and I think that the problem is that the smtp authentication username/password is assumed to be the same as the incoming pop username/password. I hope I'm wrong!
Does anyone have any idea how to fix/work around this problem?!
Thanks in advance for your help!
