After moving from the dark side of palm, i've been in love with the notes-software which is preinstalled in windows mobile.

Now that i've collected a nice proportions of notes on my PPC... How do i get them on my PC?? :?

Is there a software that shows them exactly like on PPC? One that would allow me to modify them on my Windows-PC? (without losing included voice-notes and drawings.)

Thanks.

or... Can anyone suggest a different note-taking application?

Requirements
- Text, drawing, voice in the same note.
- Maybe image support too.
- Output to PC, in some way.

Sounds like you need the combo of phatpad/phatnotes from phatware.

I know Office 2003 will open handwritten notes taken in "notes" program. I just tested it with a voice note and attaching a voice appears to make the note unreadable with Office. No voice attachment and Office opens it as written.
For voice notes you could try NoteM, a freeware that records into mp3 format.

I would have to disagree. If you sync ur notes with MS outlook, you will be able to open the embedded sound recordings

There is also a way to have ActiveSync synchronize your notes as Word (.doc) files rather than as MS Outlook items.

This tutorial was written for those wanting to print Pocket Notes with ActivePrint, but it also works generally for those who simply want a file based synchronization rather than an Outlook based synchronization.

Sorry if I didn't point out that it the tip is free. All information on our site is free. We only sell software, not tips and other information. :)

Okay the tutorial may be free..but if you look at the topic and content, it talks about activeprint, which is not free

You don't need to purchase activeprint for the tip to work i.e. transferring your *.pwi files to *.doc files - ergo, it's free. csteel2004 replied in the spirit of the thread. Like I said, nice tip.

This is true. But one of the things I do with computers both in my capacity of a business owner and my day to day use of technology is take what has been written for what may or may not be an unrelated topic and see how I can use to create a solution for a problem.

In this case someone wanted a more manageable way of syncing their notes. The end result of this tutorial is that it gives the MS ActiveSync user an actual file version of their notes.

Now, it is true that the tutorial was written for ActivePrint customers. That was just the original audience of the tutorial. But just as hishamh suggests, I don't think that in any way diminishes the value of the tutorial in this discussion.
