I'm just getting used to having WMP10 on my replacement Xda2s, and it's a mixed blessing. Here's a couple of tips which might help:

1. If you prefer a different music player to WMP10 (I like Conduits Pocket Player), do not re-associate .wma files with your preferred player. If you do, all your 'phone ring tones except 'Windows Default' (which is a .wav file) will cease to work. If you are already in this position, remove the .wma association from your preferred player, soft-reset the machine and everything will work fine again.

2. If you prefer to copy .wma music files direct onto your SD card, make sure that you ripped them with the copy protection setting 'off' on WMP10 on your desktop. It's 'on' by default and WMP10 mobile will not play copy protected files that you have put onto your PDA this way. The system says that if you use WMP10 on the desktop to sync music to your player it will work, but I don't generally copy stuff that way.

I didn't have either of these problems with WMP9 mobile...
