I have an H3950 and have just recieved an rz1710. Will the spare power lead I already have be ok for the rz1710, or is the pin configuration different?

Thanks for your help.

HP has been pretty consistant about their connectors for a long time. I assume both of these have a regular round connector that goes into the cradle or an adapter to fit right into the iPAQs. Even the adapters should be interchangeable.

I agree with Sven - it's likely to be the same - but if you want to double-check look at the label on the AC adapter. The output voltage, current, and pin configuration should all be there.

Thanks.

They're exactly the same. Actually, all iPAQ's have the same pin layout in the following two big groups:

- (very old) iPAQ 31xx/36xx/37xx
- anything newer than h37xx (that is, 38xx+).

Only caveat to that is the older 1900 series which has the same connector as the later ones, but has it turned backwards. Makes it hard to see the screen when placed in a direct connect keyboard ;)

Just to continue the historical discussion, the reason the 1900's connector was reversed is because they disabled the serial pins and made the devices USB-only, which wouldn't work with said keyboards. However, USB and power cables work fine.
