Among the exciting developments heralded for 2006: Advanced Web apps and tools will further blur the line between the desktop and the Internet. The next generation of DVD will arrive at long last, ushering in high-definition recording. Wide-screen LCD monitors will continue to become less expensive and more attractive, while new technologies will begin to boost display quality dramatically. And Microsoft will finally ship its long-awaited Windows Vista operating system."

Eric Hellweg at PC World has put together a great article on "what's hot" for 2006. Expect to see Windows Vista, the battle of the next-generation DVDs, a revolution in desktop and web environments, bigger and better displays, readily available wireless connectivity (fixed WiMax and mobile WiMax), the collision of Apple and Intel, and the realm of next-generation consoles (Xbox 360 vs. PlayStation 3 vs. Nintendo Revolution). What are you looking forward to most in 2006?

What am I looking forward too?

Either the next Dell (x70?) or one of those Acer PPCPE devices, if they are going to have CF and VGA then I want one. If not then the next Dell (4gb? HD)and a new mobile would be nice.
