Just a link, not an endorsement

Another one (again, not an endorsement - I haven't used it) is Agile Messenger (http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html).

They say, the more, the merrier. Again, not an endorsement: IM+ (http://www.shapeservices.com/eng/im/implus.php).

It hasn't been updated since the dinosaur age. I wouldn't expect it to do much beyond installing.

Another note, the old ancient AIM client people have been passing around in order to not pay for the new one is also reaching it's dinosaur age status: Running on a Wm 5 device, it will install, but I can't seem to get it to sign in.

 that dinosaur statements were very funny..please do take care as I browse the internet on my desktop and not on a sofa..so there are chances that i may fall-off my chair !!

BTW, I can't make out why the 'big' companies like Y messenger don't update their pocket pc's messenger version, the way they do for the desktop version(every month or so there's an update)

AFA aim messenger is concerned they have started charging their users which is plain injustice :(

When I have to chat on my Pocket PC, I use Agile Messenger. I'm still on version 2.0, however. They upgraded to 3.0 and it seemed almost suddenly took the betas off the shelf in order to sell service. I continue to use 2.0 when I need it.

Well whenever I use ver 2 of agile messenger, it always crashes as soon as I start to chat. It happens on my magician and ipaq 2215 too.

Same here. Didn't do anything besides eating and sleeping on my PPC. Don't install it unless you want to feed the software your system resources and memory.

To Pocketpcadmirer, agile runs fine on both my x50v and n10. Maybe you're not running the latest? Just a thought.

Seconded. pocketpcadmirer, you mentioned before you tried v2.x with no success. Have you tried v3.x? I've used it multiple times before without a hitch.

no it's still free :)

just go download the cab, and but it on yoru device, and start using it :)

Regardless, i don't think it matters what version you'll be using when Agile decides it to not be free anymore as I'm sure they can block out unregegistered users since we have ot pass through their servers anyway.

Nope, sorry. Direct from their site:

"Agile Messenger costs €2.99 per month charged by premium SMS.
You may also purchase Agile Messenger from 2checkout for €19.95 one time.

A free 7 day trial may be downloaded below."

If you didn't pay, you are either:
1) Lucky enough to find an older version
2) Using the trial that will end in 7 days
3) Breaking the law and shouldn't post here

Heck, even posting here isn't exactly free anymore, since I keep getting those annoying IntelliTXT double-underlined ads; oh well, may as well give them some help I guess:

janet jackson
star wars
iPod

:) (joke, not real spam)

Edit: I don't think it worked... and I was tossing 'em a freebie.
Edit 2: Apologies for the original draft attributing those ads to Google, which now I think was incorrect.
