I come from a background of having used the SPV smartphone a few years ago, then a year on smartphone called the E100, and then the p900 for one year. I then decided to jump ship to the Magician in August time this year. However, I found it sorely lacking some essential features like dialing from the Today screen... These tools are used with the PocketPC Phone Edition to make an SMS, Email or call from the command line."

When I stumbled upon Vijay555's homepage and found this tool and the other Freeware tools he has, I was amazed that I never thought of how lacking the PPC PE OS is - these tools are absolutly amazing when it comes to automating more of my phone related life. Now I can set up speed-dial icons on my today screen, send "I'm on my way" SMS messages to my fiance, and "I got home safely" SMS messages to my worrying mother. His tools have a bit of a learning curve, but they are free. Check out his other offerings at his site - including hacks to resize the phone dialer if you force your phone into VGA mode and more. Everything seems to be WM 5 compliant, so happy holidays and enjoy Vijay555's goodies!
